Whilst I absolutely do get the fundamental point, how can we know that, if disruptive AI technologies can encroach into so many aspects of our lives, we do not eventually and unsuspectingly become dependent on addictive non-human influencers with potential (deliberate or not) to infuse (eg) bias from their training, from developers, and from commercial big tech finance, into the decisions and choices we make....

Will there be a time when we become "followers" that cannot manage any facet of life without AI's help?
